Compass – The new transit fare card is now available for all public transit users!

If you are traveling by public transit everyday to your school or work, now you can start using ‘Compass Card’.

Metro Vancouver transit service, AKA Translink, was in transition from paper ticket, which you had to buy every month or every time you travel, to reloadable card since 2013 and now it’s ready for all public transit users!

How to use: You can tap the compass card at the start of your travel!

You can purchase the Compass card from following locations.

    • Compass Vending Machines (CVMs)* located at
      • SkyTrain, SeaBus and West Coast Express stations
      • BC Ferries Tsawwassen and Horseshoe Bay terminals
      • 18 London Drugs stores
    • Online at compasscard.ca
      (They will send the card buy mail within 2-3 business days)
    • By calling 604.398.2042
    • Compass Customer Service Centre at Stadium-Chinatown SkyTrain Station
    • West Coast Express Customer Service, 2nd floor, Waterfront Station
    • Select retailers (see map below)
* Concession Compass Cards are not available for purchase at CVMs.

There’s $6 deposit when you first purchase the card, which is refundable.

To request a refund, you can call Compass Customer Service at 604-398-2042 or visit in-person at Stadium-Chinatown station or the West Coast Express Office.
In order to get the refund, you will need to fill out this form.

After purchasing the card, you can set the AutoLoad for future! Which means you don’t have to worry about going to the store every month to purchase the new pass!

Stored Value is just like having cash on your card (pay-as-you-go). It gives you the same rate as FareSavers but with added flexibility, since you don’t need to specify a zone, and it’s perfect for single trips and occasional use. Load Stored Value onto your card at CVMs, online at compasscard.ca, by phone at 604.398.2042 or in person at the Compass Customer Service Centre at Stadium-Chinatown SkyTrain Station.

*Weekdays after 6:30 p.m., and all day Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Compass makes getting a Monthly Pass easy. Load a pass at a CVM, online at compasscard.ca, by phone at 604.398.2042 or in person at the Compass Customer Service Centre at Stadium-Chinatown SkyTrain Station. Once you register your card online, by phone or in person, you can also set automatic pass or Stored Value renewals using the “AutoLoad” feature.

Please Note: All bus-only travel is a one-zone fare. Eligible U-Pass BC students must load their passes online at upassbc.translink.ca.

Single use DayPasses are available at all CVMs. DayPasses can also be loaded to your Compass Card at a CVM, online at compasscard.ca, by phone at 604.398.2042 or in person at the Compass Customer Service Centre at Stadium-Chinatown SkyTrain Station

DayPasses purchased from a Compass Vending Machine on Sea Island will include the $5 Canada Line YVR AddFare.

You can purchase a single-use Compass Ticket or load products to your Compass Card using cash, credit or debit at any CVM. Cash is also accepted on buses, but requires exact coin fare. Use Stored Value on your Compass Card to get the same rate as FareSaver tickets.
