相手の気分を害せず、はっきり伝える英語を習得しとくと今後のカナダライフにも

役に立つ方と思います。

ただ英語だとどういう風に言ったらいいのかな〜という方たちのために

シーン別にして分けました！

１パーティー、遊びに誘われた時

I wish I could go but I have something to do tonight.

行けたらいいんだけど、今夜用事があるんだ。

気がのらない、忙しい時に使える一文です。

2 デートで誘われた場合

I wish you had asked me earlier. Can I get a rain check?

もっと早くつててくれればよかったのに。また後日にできるかな？

Rain check とはまたいつか。良いうニュアンスですがこの場合だと乗り気ではないという

感じです。

That’s great! I’ll ask friends if they can join us!

これはちょっとずるいワザ。友達程度だったらいいけど二人では行きたくないな〜という感じの時に使えます。

3バーやクラブで番号を聞かれた場合

バー、クラブでのあるあるが、女友達と遊びに行って

男の人から番号を聞かれること！もしそうなってこの人嫌だな〜という断り方は

Can I get your number? I will call you !

こちら側で主導権を握りましょう。

これでうまく英語で断れるようになったらなったら上級者ですね！

1 Ignore

If you live in a city, you likely encounter people who ask you for money

Simply look at the beggar and offer a nod or a smile to show you are aware of their presence.

This is a compassionate response that won’t cost you any money, only a few seconds of your time.

2 Refuse to give money, politely

Just smile and say sorry I don’t have change !

3 Give food instead of money 

If you are uncomfortably simply smiling and walking away from a beggar, offer to buy them some food.

ホームレスからお金をせびられたらどうする？！対処法は？

バンクーバー、ダウンタウンで学生。仕事をしている人なら必ず出会うのが、ホームレス。

お金をせびってくるし、少し怖いイメージもありますよね。

英語での対応、がわからない人たちのために上手な断り方をまとめました。

〜その１〜　無視！

看板を持ってお金くださいアピールをしている方もいますがそんな時は

笑顔もしくは、見て見ぬふりが一番いい方法です。

それでもせびってくるホームレスには。。。

〜その２〜　お金がないことを伝える

I don’t have money ! と言いましょう！

それか I am broke ! (一文無し！）

そうすると、ホームレスはすぐに引き下がります。

でもかわいそう。。。など後ろめたい気持ちがあるなら金ではなく、食べ物をあげる！

お金をあげるとそれをドラッグに使うなどするので！

少しびっくりした〜など経験もあるかと思いますが、基本的にビクビクせず対応する！が一番ですね。

It’s cold and flu season again. The best way to prevent getting sick is to wash your hands regularly,

Water is the best fluid to drink when you have a cold or flu as it helps lubricate the mucosus memberances of the throat.

Hot drinks are also a good choice as the hot steam they produce can relieve congestion.

Other fluids which are good options during cold and flu infection include:

• Juice
• Ginger ale

• Herbal tea

• Honey and lemon tea – mix lemon and honey with a cup of hot water

• Ginger tea

St Patrick’s Day is a global celebration of Irish culture on or around March 17.

It particularly remembers St Patrick, one of Ireland’s patron saints,

What to do on March 17 ?

St Patrick’s Day is celebrated in many parts of the world,

especially by Irish communities and organizations. Many people wear an item of green clothing on the day.

Parties featuring Irish food and drinks that are dyed in green food color are part of this celebration.

It is a time when children can indulge in sweets and adults can enjoy a “pint” of beer at a local pub.

You should be careful in Vancouver! Here are some tips on how to prevent getting

involved in something!

Canada is basically a safe country, but you do have to be careful with your luggage,

homeless people and pick pockets.

Here is a list of places where your luggage could be stolen:

● The Hotel

● The Airport

● The Library

● At a Restaurant

Tips for keeping your belongings safe while traveling

1. Always keep valuables with you

Always keep your most valuables items, like: your camera, laptop, or anything

else you don’t want stolen with you. Don’t put them under a table, on a seat on

the bus or give them to a taxi driver or a van driver. Keep your most valuable

things in your pocket, with you!

2. Don’t bring a lot of cash with you

Bringing cash is more dangerous than using a credit card. If your credit card is

stolen, you can suspend it – stopping thieves from using your money!

Vancouver is a good place to travel and study, and it is generally pretty safe. But

be sure to pay attention to your surroundings, and be aware of the people around

カバンと一緒にテーブルの下などに置いておくと、、、アレ？！ない！何てことも起こりうるので

盗まれたくないものは持っていること！

２　大量の現金を持ち歩かないこと！

現金は盗まれたら、戻ってこないので、現金が必要な時でも大金はもちあるかないことをお勧めします。

あと相手にもお金を持っているというアピールにも繋がるので、気をつけましょう。

バンクーバーは旅行、留学にとても最適な場所です。楽しいひと時を過ごすためにも、防犯対策はしっかりとしましょう！

We are going to introduce our team member, Mariko who is in charge of social media; providing you guys with hot and useful info all the time through her blogs and Facebook.

At first glance, she looks ladylike, has a beautiful white skin and has a slim body.

However, unlike her appearance, she is a very active woman!  She does 10k marathons

and participates in Rugged Maniac for fun! She creates entertaining events on a weekly basis. Next week, she will test her luck and wit at an escape room  

You will never get bored if you become her friend!

Since her father is a professional ice hockey coach, she is really good at ice hockey too!

Last month I saw her playing with many Canadian guys in the ice rink and making them look like beginners!

We are all wondering,,, how come she has so much stamina…..!!!!???

まりちゃんの好きな食べ物は北海道育ちということもあるのか、シーフード！

料理も上手です！どこにいるかわからないくらい日頃忙しい彼女ですが、

バンクーバー島のナナイモ発祥のスイーツ。

上から、チョコレート、カスタード、ブラウニーと

甘いのが３つ合体されてとにかくsweet !!コーヒーと一緒にいただくのがいいかもしれませんね。

安くて美味しい！のが売りで軽いランチなんかにも最適です。

バンクーバーだと１ブロックごとにあるので簡単に見つけることができます；）

めちゃめちゃカロリー高いけど、食べたくなるカナダフードたち。。。！

美味しいけど食べ過ぎには注意ですね。私はカナダに来てから３キロ体重が増えました笑

What is the Cat café ?

Cat café are very popular in Japan.

Cat cafes are places where people can go have a drink and enjoy petting, and

playing with cats. Catfe only allows 16 people at one time in the cat lounge.

So before you go, you’re going to need reservations!

They are daily open 11am ~ 9pm except on Thursday.

カナダに初のねこカフェが登場♡

日本ではおなじみの猫カフェがバンクーバーにも進出！

癒される場所として最高なところですよね、ねこと戯れながら〜もふもふタイム！

ねこ好きにはたまらん一時。。。

私も実際に行ったのですが、

「ここの猫カフェ予約が必要なの〜」と返されてしまいました。ちーん。

カフェなのに、予約が必要とはなかなか手強いですね。予約はオンラインよりのとのことです。

トータルで７匹と、カフェはこじんまりと小さいですが、ニャンコとのこゆーいモフモフタイムが楽しめるでしょう。
